Nature Walk and Yoga: Embark on a nature walk or hike to explore the beauty of the Earth. Pause along the way to practice yoga poses that resonate with the natural surroundings, such as Tree Pose amidst the trees or Mountain Pose overlooking a scenic vista.


Earth-inspired Yoga Sequence: Create a yoga sequence inspired by the elements of nature, such as Sun Salutations to honor the warmth and energy of the sun, or Moon Salutations to connect with the calming energy of the moon and stars.

A grounding and nature-inspired yoga practice for Earth Day:


Mountain Pose (Tadasana): Stand tall at the top of your mat, feet hip-width apart, and arms by your sides. Root down through your feet, feeling a connection to the Earth below you. Engage your core and lengthen through your spine, reaching your crown towards the sky. Take a few deep breaths here, grounding and centering yourself.


Tree Pose (Vrksasana): Shift your weight onto your left foot and place the sole of your right foot on your inner left thigh or calf (avoid the knee). Press your foot into your leg and your leg back into your foot, finding balance. Bring your hands to heart center or extend your arms overhead like branches. Feel rooted through your standing foot while reaching towards the sky like a tree.


Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana): Step your feet wide apart and turn your toes out slightly. Bend your knees and sink your hips down, coming into a squat position. Keep your spine long and your chest lifted. Bring your hands to heart center, pressing your palms together. Feel the strength and stability of the Earth beneath you as you embody the energy of a goddess.


Child's Pose (Balasana): Come to your hands and knees on the mat. Bring your big toes together and widen your knees apart. Sit your hips back towards your heels and extend your arms forward, resting your forehead on the mat. Surrender into the pose, feeling supported and nurtured by the Earth beneath you. Take deep breaths into your back body, releasing tension and stress.


Seated Meditation: Find a comfortable seated position on the mat or a cushion. Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath. Imagine roots growing down from your sit bones into the Earth, grounding you and connecting you to its energy. Spend a few minutes in silent meditation, feeling a sense of peace and oneness with the Earth.
